About Conflict and Conflict Resolution 2007 Texas Legislature Family Law Bills
Jack W. Marrr, of the Texas Family Law Foundation sent out the following recap of the this year's Texas Legislature HB 448 - increasing the net resources cap in the child support formula among other things (Gone to the Governor) Of course, the Governor will still have his say on the bills he has not yet signed. His decisions must be made no later than June 18th. Unfortunately, at session’s end we will not have passed the bills on gestational agreements and attorney’s fees in cases enforcing orders involving certain retirement benefits, which were important parts of the Section’s program. And, the problem created by HB 410 (passed by the Legislature last session) will not be solved because two bills (SB 990 and HB 1646) failed, each of which would have allowed full characterization of community and separate property interests in certain retirement benefits and stock options.
