How I teach
Interior Design is a profession requiring knowledge of a variety of disciplines and subjects. Visual and problem solving skills are an important part of design. I find that students respond and learn the most when they are given the opportunity for discovery by pushing them to think “outside the box”. Field trips, the internet, experiments on campus, in-class demonstrations, lectures, question and answer sessions, team projects and individual instruction expose students to a variety of learning environments. I encourage questions and conversation about private practice, client interaction, project types and class assignments. I know I don’t have all the answers, but discovery is half the fun in interior design!
More Information about me
I love nature and the outdoors, Modernist furniture & design, and a variety of art styles. My favorite activities are drawing, painting, gardening, playing tennis and golf. I enjoy a good non-fiction murder mystery as well as fiction forensic and historical novels. I am patient and laid back but don’t take advantage of me because I can be assertive when necessary!
