ARTS & SCIENCES PRIORITIES

1. Support Subcommittee on Institutional Effectiveness Program review for PSYC, FSHD/FSHN, SOCI, DRCM.  This will include core curriculum evaluations.

2. Complete evaluation of 2007 – 2008 Strategic goals for division.

3. Continue to explore Community College Baccalaureate degree for Interior Design.

4. Participate in CIDA (Council for Interior Design) accreditation site visit in Spring, 2008

5. Offer new Certificate program in Conflict Management Specialist workforce program.

6. Implement DCCCD HUMA 1315 course re-design project.

7. Develop and offer distance education On-Line courses in History, Interior Design, Government, Psychology, Biology, SCIT, Geology, Music, and Humanities.

8. Create Dual Credit enrollments with area High Schools.

9. Support the President's priorities for 2007 – 2008 and the board goals of diversity, retention, and closing the gap.

10. Encourage targeted professional development opportunities for all full-time faculty and staff.

11. Sustain 2007 – 2008 partnerships with downtown YMCA for PHED classes and with Dallas Children's Theater for DRAM classes, and with Y.A.T. (Young American Talent) high school ARTS competition.

12. Evaluate continuous improvement of classroom instruction in academic transfer courses as well as in work-force programs.

13. Request Carl Perkins and Information Technology funding as needed in the Arts & Sciences division for 2007 – 2008.

14. Offer Learning communities course, i.e, Cultural Studies.

15. Design new space initiatives for our Division.

16. Mentor all new full-time faculty in Arts & Sciences division, 2007/2008.
