Retirement, my family and my home
I am now officially retired. However, the Dallas County Community College District has a program called "Phased Retirement" in which I am allowed, for up to three years, to teach one course in the Spring Semester and one in the Fall Semester and to do other duties such as help maintain the Arts Division Website. For these services I receive a portion of the salary I received upon retirement. It is a wonderful program of the DCCCD and I am immensely grateful for it.

I have been married to Helen Elizabeth Currier since 1969. We have lived in DeSoto, Texas since 1973 and we love our yard that has 17 trees.

I have a sister, Genie, who lives in Oregon and a brother, Dal, who lives in central Texas.

We have 2 cats: Angel and Sweetpea

Creative interests
Now that I am retired, I have a lot more time for my creative interests, especially writing. I have begun a book and continue to write poetry periodically.

Writing and Movies: As I mentioned above, I am spending more time learning about writing and writing a book. Also, one of my favorite pastimes is writing poetry. Most of my poems are published on the website: http://www.pathetic.org.

My wife and I share a love of movies, however, I am definatley a fanatic compared to her. I also share that interest with my sister Genie who lives in Oregon. One of my biggest pet peaves is people opening and using their cell phones during movies. This has definately decreased my movie-going enjoyment.

Websites: I enjoy creating websites. My personal website where I have stuff about my family, poetry, and spiritual matters is: http://www.toCreate.net.
My main professional website is: http://www.mediationADR.net. 80% to 90% of that website is devoted to my students or potential students and our conflict management program. I have also created and maintain the website for Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable, http://www.TMTR.org. I also created and maintain a website for an artist friend of mine: http://artmallinson.com.

Reading: Although I do some professional reading, my favorite time is just before going to sleep in the evening when I pick up my novel - not great literature - but diverting and engaging. Some of my favorite authors are Clive Cussler, Lawrence Block, John Grisham, and David McCollugh.

Travel: We love to travel and to enjoy the beauty of the Earth. We have been on three or four cruises to the Caribbean, which we love, and have taken many road trips over the years, mostly to the West.
