Joyce Jones — Adjunct Faculty: Conflict Management

Joyce Jones is the Assistant Executive Director of Dispute Mediation Service in Dallas. She is a veteran mediator and one of the most respected figures in conflict resolution in the Dallas area. She is very practical in her approach to teaching, bringing her wealth of experience to bear on the subject matter, and ably guiding students in their training in Dispute Resolution. At El Centro College she teaches Communication and Negotiation for Conflict Resolution and the Mediation Practicum course. Joyce is also Adjunct Professor at the Texas Wesleyan School of Law.
Professional Background
Joyce Jones has a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree from Dallas Baptist University, course work in community counseling at Texas A & M University at Commerce, has completed graduate work in the Master of Liberal Arts Dispute Resolution Certificate program at Southern Methodist University. She has completed many training courses including the United States Postal Service Mediation Redress Program, children's Justice Act Project, U.S. EEOC Mediation Training, and the Dallas County Juvenile Department Mediation Training.
Personal Information
Joyce is a single African American mother – proud of her son Joseph who is a senior at Bishop Lynch High School. She is very involved in serving the community and has been on numerous boards and committees, for example: Zero Tolerance For Violence, President, Dallas Bar Association Juvenile Justice Committee, Dallas Legal Roundtable, and many more.
