About our Conflict Management Studies Program

Taking Our Courses
Our courses can be taken for academic credit or continuing education credit.  Most classes are 5 eight-hour days in length, conveniently offered on three successive weeks or every other weekends on a combination of Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (usually two Fridays and three Saturdays). There are also other configurations of days and times.

Our Motto
The motto of our Mediation and Conflict Resolution training program is: "An Inclusive Program at the Heart of the City."   Because of the multicultural makeup of the El Centro student body, we offer a unique and excellent opportunity for students to acquire up-to-date and quality mediation and conflict management training taught by academically qualified, experienced faculty.

Mission of our Program
To create and build relationships and community in which people honor difference while reaching beyond barriers of fear, violence, ego, and cultural and group biases.

We teach and support processes of communication, inclusion, understanding, collaboration, agreement, and reconciliation.
